Why is it important to have 'Photocells' (Magic Eyes) across my driveway when I have an Automated Gate System?

When an Automated Gate System is installed, a control logic function known as 'Automatic Closure' can be enabled.

'Automatic Closure' means that you can use a radio remote, keypad, intercom or similar to open the gate and after a preset time, the gates will close again automatically.

When 'Automatic Closure' is enabled, we strongly recommend the installation of Photoelectric Sensors (Magic Eyes) across the “closed” gateway, as this will minimise the chance of the Automated Gates closing on a vehicle that may be parked in the driveway.

For 'Full-faced or 'near Full-faced' gates we also strongly recommend the installation of a set of Photoelectric Sensors across the “opened” gateway as well where children and pets maybe playing, as it is difficult to see what maybe on the other side of the gates when they are closed.
